CONSEGNA DEL PREMIO FOTOGIORNALISMO COME IMPEGNO CIVILE A FRANCESCO BARILARO
Francesco Barilaro was born in 1965. He is interested of photograpy since the age of 12 years, when he received as a gift, his first Bencini Comet. Ever since then he has continuated to coltivate in the picture its sole and absolute passion. Become a professional journalist, has been abandoned almost the print media journalism, devoted completely to the photojournalism. Self-taught, is a photographer of sport (gymnastic and football) and show, but in particular of the in-depht reportages, go-about than of a social nature. Humanitarian photographer likes to call, one that has the civic duty to pierce the silence by telling of stories that others do not want to tell; informing, testifyng, denouncing the violence, misery, despair, without mediation or censorship. Has worked in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Somalia, Darfur, Lebanon.
